I wrote I love you on my ex girlfriend once, I really wish I wouldn’t have.
February 8th, 2010 at 3:10 am
Yea, I’ve had a lot of both… Oddly shaped cocks seem to be the biggest hit when drawing on someone haha
February 8th, 2010 at 3:13 am
OMG Is that thing real? That’s a whole lotta hair! It kind of looks like a tree, or a shield. Maybe a cross? I think you could give that thing cornrows.
February 8th, 2010 at 3:13 am
I second Jacine’s question! You’re a darn insomniac.
February 8th, 2010 at 3:13 am
Is it just me or is this dudes nips really close together?
February 8th, 2010 at 3:15 am
Why sleep when I could be shooting… I wasnt built to sleep or rest I was built to do this
February 8th, 2010 at 3:16 am
I never think of anything interesting to say, it’s usually something unimaginative like “I am a douche”…
Morning from England btw
February 8th, 2010 at 3:17 am
Its just you, but I’m surprised you can see his nipples at all under that cloak of darkness
February 8th, 2010 at 3:19 am
LOL! Nice answer!! I bet you can’t live without photography!
February 8th, 2010 at 3:19 am

February 8th, 2010 at 3:21 am
I gave my friend a hitler stash one night after he passed out from drinkin all day. he had that thing for 4 days shit was hilarious. I also gave the same guy an eye patch once.

February 8th, 2010 at 3:24 am
I’m ok with being a piece of meat…. I’ve been treated and called a lot worse. A piece of meat actually sounds sexy
February 8th, 2010 at 3:24 am

February 8th, 2010 at 3:24 am

February 8th, 2010 at 3:28 am

February 8th, 2010 at 3:28 am

February 8th, 2010 at 3:32 am
Do you ever meet fans? What’s your favorite hang out place in LA?
February 8th, 2010 at 3:33 am
@Jorleny Just pick up a camera and begin the madness
February 8th, 2010 at 3:34 am
maybe a diptych of male and female having “piece of meat written all of them.
February 8th, 2010 at 3:35 am
That’s the problem, I don’t know where to start :/ but seeing your images make me think I can’t do better. Why bc you’re GOOD!
February 8th, 2010 at 3:36 am
good answer. there’s always too much to do, never enough time. night shots are sweeter anyway!
February 8th, 2010 at 3:38 am
I’m sure that there are a lot of awesome places there in LA where you can take pictures.. I wanna have a vacation there on summer..
February 8th, 2010 at 3:43 am
@Jacine oh, there is a lot of pretty places to visit LA! Maybe Tyler should b our tour guide
February 8th, 2010 at 3:45 am
Yeaaah!! Tyler should bring us there! LOL
February 8th, 2010 at 3:46 am
@Jorleny it doesnt matter if your good when you start only if your good when you finish
February 8th, 2010 at 3:47 am
He should, shouldn’t he? Haha the first time I’m actually talking to Tyler, it’s actually pretty cool. Hey Tyler, you should take a picture of someone getting shocked and there body saying “electrifying” hahaha
February 8th, 2010 at 3:49 am
@Tyler aww that’s so sweet of you!! When you say finish you mean Photoshop?
February 8th, 2010 at 3:56 am
no i do not mean photoshop if you want to be a good photographer learn how to take photos with out using photoshop
February 8th, 2010 at 4:06 am
I’ve never written anything on someone else, nor have they written words on me. I have been mehendi-ed though — does that count?
Persephone
February 8th, 2010 at 4:06 am
That’s impossible, everyone uses Photoshop to hense the photo better. That’s what I thought. See, that’s why I need u to teach me! How about for the lighting? Do u use a lamp? This is too hard!! I’ll never get it :/
February 8th, 2010 at 4:14 am
i did an entire book using zero photoshop!
February 8th, 2010 at 4:16 am
Where can I buy this book of urs?
February 8th, 2010 at 4:18 am
Am I too late for a little chat? If not, morning Tyler…good to see you’re still abusing your body (and other people’s) in the name of Art! I think your defining stylistic feature is the floodlit “we’ve caught you” feel to your exposures (that pun is intended)! x
February 8th, 2010 at 4:22 am
By the way, general photography/film question for you what makes a shot: the eye of the photographer/filmmaker or the quality of the camera?
February 8th, 2010 at 4:24 am
I once wrote the name of each bone on somebody. It was the most effect study method I have used so far.
February 8th, 2010 at 4:25 am
@SHOOTtheSUN the eye is the key for sure a good camera is nice but it can only take you so far
February 8th, 2010 at 4:27 am
@Jorleny Umm, I don’t use Photoshop either when I take photos. The most I do is crop & resize.
Persephone
February 8th, 2010 at 4:31 am
I guess I was wrong. But Photoshop does make the photos bright.
February 8th, 2010 at 4:33 am
@Tyler thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. Much love n light! Also, have a blessed night.
February 8th, 2010 at 4:40 am
Tyler, thank you! I am so glad you said that (about the eye over camera), it’s what I keep telling people too. I am hugely inspired visually by music, and I it’s obvious that you are too. What came first for your “2009″ video – Muse or the putting together (roughly) of the shots?
February 8th, 2010 at 4:40 am
picked the song then made the video you have to make them to the song when theres that much footage
February 8th, 2010 at 4:42 am
By the way, a virtual hug and a jolt of positive electricity to keep your creative juices flowing! x
February 8th, 2010 at 4:44 am
It was a superb song choice (and I’m not a huge Muse fan for some reason). You keep mentioning that you are writing – do you mean a storyboard/script? Or are you writing your memoirs (not THAT would be an interesting read for sure…). x
February 8th, 2010 at 4:45 am
Copyright question: do you get permission to use the music, because a lot of people have their soundtracks removed on YouTube for breach of copyright!
February 8th, 2010 at 4:54 am
Writing a movie and writing some stuff for the dirty side of glamor all very fun!
February 8th, 2010 at 4:58 am
I’m so looking forward to both…re the book: can I reserve a signed copy now (or will you charge me $1000 for the privilege?!). lol Take care of your sweet self, Tyler, and never lose ‘the personal touch’ – it’s refreshing and generous. x
February 8th, 2010 at 5:01 am
@tyler Ooo — movie! DO tell more about that! And when the book is coming out too, if you have a date for that yet.
Persephone
February 8th, 2010 at 5:18 am
no date for either of them yet should have something to announce on the book soon tho!
February 8th, 2010 at 5:40 am
Wad up!
Can’t wait for the book!
1-2 years is a long time!!
Is that you in the pic?
February 8th, 2010 at 5:51 am
hmm never had written anything on anyone or had them write on me. I remember a friend who let his kids color with their markers on his back and then accidentally wore a white shirt into work and you could see it through the shirt though!
February 8th, 2010 at 9:58 am
now that’s my kinda meat. hehe.
February 8th, 2010 at 2:24 pm
ohw is that mr. Quinto?
February 8th, 2010 at 3:50 pm
Craziest thing I’ve ever written on someone? Hmmm; probably- ‘I love the way she tastes.’ It’s the first thing off the top of my head, there’s probably another one in my cranium somewhere…
^^
February 8th, 2010 at 5:21 pm
I once wrote on my best friend’s chest “Not a douche anymore” to celebrate him getting his act together. Haha
February 8th, 2010 at 8:40 pm
I like to draw tattoo sleeves on my forearm in pen sometimes.
Though I did write, “To Ricochet. My beautiful buttercup. We shall purge the nonbelievers and then snack on cupcakes whist atop a mound of zombies. Love, Nobunaga.” on a friend’s arm recently.
And I can remember a friend drawing a toilet by my elbow.
February 8th, 2010 at 10:17 pm
Tyler, I’m honestly just like…so glad I discovered you and your photography. It’s been a few years now and I guess I never really realized how big of an impact you’ve had on me. Your work’s amazing and I’m gonna keep being a loyal fan as long as you keep showing the world your vision. You’re talented as fuck, Tyler Shields. and I appreciate you for that.
February 8th, 2010 at 10:26 pm
@Shannon D i will never stop! Thank you so much for your amazing words
February 8th, 2010 at 10:41 pm
my friend and i in history usually draw random shit on each other..today she wrote some words on the back of my arm and i cant read them :\ Great pic like always tyler, ur so friggin awesome. ._.
February 9th, 2010 at 9:51 am
… not written, painted… and it was a beachscape over his back. Also painted him as a black cat! You never cease to amaze me- you cheer me up every day. Thank you.
February 10th, 2010 at 1:35 am
I actually really love how hairy he is in this photo. Hairiness used to be the epitome of sexy and manliness and I feel like it heightens the idea of him being a ‘piece of meat’. I also really like how the hand is pushing him away, almost to say that she (assuming it’s a females hand) wants more than just a man. Well done, Tyler. I always enjoy your work!
February 10th, 2010 at 12:09 pm
Ewww. Glad that´s not Matt Dallas!!
