Yesterday I found a love letter sitting in a booth at a restaurant it was written from a man to a women they had not seen each other in 2 years and he was confessing his love to her but for some reason this letter must have never made its way to her you can guess that maybe it fell out of his jacket and into the booth my point with all of this is you don’t need text to tell someone how you feel if you loose your letter just write it with your mouth.

Have you ever written a love letter?

Ever had one given to you?

  • Cynthia

No, but I have found a letter from a girl breaking up with her boyfriend because she saw him cheating with one of her friends.

I write fiction, thus I’ve written love letters, they’re just not to or from real people. But no, none have been written for me, at least none that I know of, and none have been written for people in my life. If I care about someone, I’m going to tell them to their face, it’s just better that way, no missed signals, no fuss.

I still have no idea how you made the collisions, I don’t think I’ll ever know, but that’s okay.

whoa at the run-on sentence! ;)
I’m not given to writing love-letters…it’s just as well.
Had a few written to me, but I was usually confused because I never knew that anything was going on to begin with, so it seemed superfluous.

  • Heather

    I have many love letters.

  • Jessica

  • Holly

    What’s a letter? I write emails.

  • Lily

Ha! I know right, it’s just not as romantic.

  • Holly

Sometimes don’t you just want to get a real letter that maybe even smells a bit.

  • Holly

Yes! And yes, pretty soon their will be cologne smelling emails.

  • hannah

my six year old self mailed a love letter to a boy and enclosed a dried flower… hopeless romanttc from the beginning

  • Joyful

well, hello again Tyler. its been too long… you’ve got so much awesomeness that i need to catch up on. But i’ll start with this… particularly since i just wrote a love letter today. I left it partially tucked under an apartment building’s welcome matt… I wrote it to no one in particular, aiming to remind a complete stranger that they too are incredible and beautiful :] its this new thing i’m trying out. anywho, i have received and written love letters in the past… ironically, this one to a stranger truly had every ounce of my heart in it.

  • Lily

    Weird.

  • Joyful

awe, hannah. i did that, too. but i didn’t realize it needed stamps. and it just had his name, no address… years later my dad told me that he found it… and hand delivered it to my crush for me<3

  • Adam

So many letters in my life. so many. I can see them in my mind’s eye even now.

  • Gina

I wish someone would give me a love letter with some fried chicken and then I would be in love.

  • Becca

  • Holly

  • Katy

Love this picture Wish I could put it on my wall.

  • Natalie

Someone once said to me, “You can take that spicy love letter and shove it up your ass.” Which would have hurt cause it was really spicy.

  • Dee

Finding love letters that don’t belong to you! that’s the best!

  • Kevin

    That’s like finding someone’s journal.

  • Dee

Yup there’s nothing like another person’s romantic misery.

  • Kevin

It doesn’t have to be misery. :)

  • Natasha

I have had some crazy love letters in my day. Some that have changed my life.

  • Jackie Sara

Love letters are sweet. They talk about Love’s Journey of Personal discovery. It’s a Private affair. You can’t write anything of Love in the net it just be plagiarised and the sincerity will be lost to the fancy of Words regurgitated. The Intent of Loving lost to the Winds. But then Love letters are good to eat too, go to Chinatown they have ready pack packets to go! LOL

You know, I’ve written a lot of love letters, but I’ve never been confident enough to send them, it’s a little bit confusing for me, maybe I’m just afraid of being refused or something like that. But is to speak about letters addressed to me, them I have only valentines postcards from my childhood.

  • SHOOTtheSUN

Hearing confessions of love and devotion coming from the mouth of that special someone is wonderful…but I have to say that there is just something extremely magical about them committing their feelings to paper or screen via the written word. It adds a sense of permanence to the romance. Sigh…

  • Elizabeth

There are all kinds of love letters. Men to women, women to men, men to men, women to women and a different kind of love letter. Parents trying to show their love to their children. But word of mouth is always the best, take your own advise and call your mom!

  • Christine

Once up on a time I wrote a love letter to a doctoral candidate I was crushing on. The same day I sent it, a friend of both of us told me that he is gay. Several hours too late of course. The end of the story is that I got it back from her still closed. At that time I was happy about that but now I think its a bit sad that he never read it because I put a lot of ‘heart blood’ into it.

  • hannah

    precious, joyful! :)
