So one day out of the blue I start getting emails with the subject “Mischa Barton” Upon opening the emails I realize they are from her fan club in Brazil they were asking me to shoot her the emails didnt stop for almost 2 weeks at the same time they were emailing me they were emailing one of her best friends about me I randomly met her friend and we talked about it a few days later this happened… She was amazing to work with and I cant wait to do it again. Anyone in London come to my Gallery at Imitate Modern 27a Devonshire ST wed night at 6pm! Also I still have some limited edition prints for sale PRINTS!

This just looks like a crack whore with some red lipstick thrown on for dramatic effect. “Heroin chic” is long over, and I knew a girl who used to take photos very similar to these when she was strung out on coke… a decade ago. It takes more than repulsive, odd photos to be art. This photog admitedly did not have any deep thought/message behind these photos. In an interview he stated he hadn’t even thought about PETA or any animal rights controversy, he just thought Mischa and meat would be cool.

I also wonder if Mischa was thinking when she agreed to these. These will not help her career or image… AND she put her health, even life, in jeopardy.

Contaminated beef = nearly 9,000 deaths a year in the U.S. alone… NOT sexy.

Ecoli, salmonella, bacteria, fungus, parasites… NOT sexy.

Raw, dead, cow flesh… NOT sexy.

As an artist, I am personally offended to see this be called art. Calling this art insults artists everywhere, and diminishes the great effort they put into their work. Those of you cheering it on are like the crowds in The Emperor’s New Clothes. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Animal cruelty is a global concern, health and hygiene an appreciated cortesy, dismiss both, and art or not disgust is mandatory. Art does not only evoke emotion , it expressess it too , so what are you expressing? Controversy? or your shallow mind? stop using art to hide behind your lack of creativity and wallow in your pathetic claim for uniqueness.
