Paint

Paint marks a bold departure in Tyler Shields’ work, replacing his signature cinematic edge with bursts of pure, explosive color. In this series, Shields abandons restraint in favor of chaos and play, capturing figures drenched, splattered, and engulfed in paint. The result is a body of work that feels alive with energy—wild, visceral, and celebratory. Unlike much of his other photography, which often flirts with darkness and danger, Paint revels in joy and unpredictability, showing a completely different side of Shields’ creative vision.
